    Announcement

Our video library has a new home!

To access the ever-increasing number of “how to” videos, you can now simply head to the Involve Education website and click on Help > Product Videos (or navigate directly to the video gallery: https://involveeducation.com/gallery).

A video that schools have found very useful for showcasing all Involve has to offer is the updated 30-minute end-to-end demo. If you are new or old to Involve School Portal, this is worth a watch!

As always, if you'd like to discuss any of the above, please reach out!

  2. Support for Divisions Within Schools

    New Feature

The Involve School Portal now supports schools with multiple internal divisions (e.g., Prep / Primary and Secondary). This allows you to maintain common settings at the whole-school level while customising key settings per division. Staff assigned to a specific division will only see students in that division by default, simplifying their day-to-day experience in Involve.

    Division-level settings now include:

    • Pod and student visibility — Staff see only students in their assigned divisions by default, with the option to view the whole school
    • Behaviour notifications — Attributes remain consistent across divisions, but notification settings can differ
    • Missing lesson notifications — Configurable per division (notification timings remain school-wide)
    • Register and absence monitoring — Configurable per division
    • Parent messaging — Configurable per division
    • Staff absence routing — Control which pods receive absence and holiday requests per division

As needed, we will continue to split more settings from "whole school" to "per division". If your school is currently set up as two or more linked schools within Involve School Portal and you'd like to migrate to using Divisions, please get in touch!

  3. Attach a Brochure to Your Trip Requests

    Improvement

With Involve Trips, you can already fully manage your trips through our powerful custom Trip workflow. With this latest release, Trip Requestors can now upload a PDF brochure when creating a trip, giving approvers and staff members more context and motivation for the trip at a glance.

To access this functionality, simply click the “+” symbol and select “Brochure” in one of the stages you’ve set up for the trip!

  4. Admissions (new capability!)

    New Feature

We now support Admissions, where prospective students and prospective parents can be managed within Involve School Portal. We will sync the details from iSAMS (our phase 1 launch), but you can also enter the students / parents manually. Forms and triggers to send the forms to the prospective parents can be managed within this new Admissions view.

  5. Registers now carry forward their attendance marks

    Improvement

For schools that have 3D Attendance enabled, registers now carry forward their attendance marks in the situations when: a class stays in the same room for consecutive classes (even if the teacher changes) or the teacher remains the same for consecutive classes (even if the room changes).

This improves the experience when taking attendance of double lesson periods that are created as two singles.

Click here or the image below to watch a video of this in action!

  6. Early Dismissal from Fixtures

    Improvement

Staff can now dismiss students early from fixtures while maintaining proper attendance records. When dismissing a student, staff must select how the student was released:

    • Dismissed to guardian – Student collected by parent/guardian
    • Dismissed independently – Student departed alone (if they are old enough)
    • Released onsite – Student released to another onsite activity (only available for fixtures at onsite locations)

All early dismissal details are logged in the fixture record for safeguarding and attendance-tracking purposes.

  7. Hyperlinks now supported in events and messages

    Improvement

Schools can now add clickable hyperlinks within event and message descriptions, making it easier to direct parents and staff to relevant resources. Whether linking to external websites or online documents, click the "create link" button when composing your description.

  8. Handbook Buttons: Link directly to your files with custom buttons

    Improvement

You can now add custom buttons to your Handbooks that open documents you upload to Involve School Portal. This makes it easier for Handbook readers to access key documents—such as policies, guides, or directions—directly from your Handbook pages.

    What's changed:

    • Add custom buttons anywhere in your Handbook content

    • Link buttons to open documents within the Involve School Portal

    • Customise button appearance to match your school's style

    The configuration is very simple.

The end result gives you a lot more flexibility.

Why this matters: No more managing separate shared drives linked to handbooks or worrying about broken links. Documents stay in a single secure location with consistent access controls, while your Handbooks become a more powerful hub for important information.

Note: Custom hyperlinks continue to work as before, allowing you to link to external websites alongside your Portal documents.
